REVIEW: Stanley Aerolight Transit and Backpacker’s Pantry
We’re gonna talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly here for a second. This week I got to test some more of my gear out in the backcountry at Guadalupe Mountains National Park.
The Good:
-Stanley Aerolight Transit Bottle: absolutely awesome. Definitely could stand to use something even lighter but to be honest, you’re already carrying water in it which has a ton of “acceptable” weight. It advertises to keep liquids hot for 8 hours and cold for 12, which I can attest is true given that it kept my boiled water pretty damn hot even at 9 hours. Wish the cap was metal so it would retain heat longer, but you can’t hate how simple and light it is.
The Bad:
-Backpacker’s Pantry’s “Mango Sticky Rice:” hot dog shit. For starters, I am a connoisseur of mango sticky rice… one could say I have a refined pallet for it. But whoever made this read the term “mango sticky rice” and then just put stuff in a bag that they THOUGHT was how it should taste. Not creamy, rice was bleh, and mango didn’t even taste like mango. It was also super yellow looking like they put Turmeric in there instead… literally had zero flavor to it. Any of the reviews on Amazon that say it tastes good are people who think Chex Mix is spicey…
The Ugly:
-I’m just going to list that Mango Sticky Rice abomination here, because I’m that mad about it…
